Web3 Wallet
What is a Web3 Wallet?
A Web3 wallet is a type of digital currency wallet based on Web3 technology that allows users to manage cryptocurrencies and interact with blockchain networks. Unlike traditional digital currency wallets, Web3 wallets are designed specifically for interacting with decentralized applications (DApps) and blockchain networks.
Common Web3 wallets include MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, and more. These wallets are typically provided as browser extensions or mobile applications, enabling users to:
Store and Manage Cryptocurrencies: Web3 wallets support storage and management of various cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ether, and more.
Private Key Management: Users can generate, import, and manage their cryptocurrency private keys through Web3 wallets, ensuring security and privacy.
Interact with DApps: Web3 wallets allow users to interact with various DApps on blockchain networks, including digital art markets, decentralized exchanges, social media platforms, and more.
Digital Signatures and Transactions: Users can use Web3 wallets to digitally sign transactions, enabling secure transactions on blockchain networks.
Wallet Integration: Web3 wallets can connect with DApps and blockchain networks, allowing users to use their cryptocurrencies for payments, voting, and other operations within DApps.
The emergence of Web3 wallets makes using blockchain applications more convenient and secure. Users can manage and interact with multiple DApps using a single wallet while maintaining control and ownership of their assets. However, users should also be cautious about protecting their private keys and passwords to avoid security vulnerabilities or attacks.
MMC's Web3 Wallet:
MMC's Web3 wallet is a simplified version of a digital currency wallet that includes features such as transfers, balance inquiries, transaction records, and block rewards. It only supports specified tokens like MMC, USDT, ETH, TRX, and other common tokens, and does not allow the addition of custom tokens or a DApp browser.
Regarding private key management (or mnemonic), to lower the entry barrier and considering many users' lack of security awareness, we have introduced encrypted cloud backup. This enables private key recovery using an email address and wallet password.
For experienced cryptocurrency users with strong security awareness who can safeguard their private keys independently, we recommend disabling the cloud backup feature to have complete control. However, we do not assume any responsibility for the risk of private key theft in this case.
